In the men's part, there won't be so many changes as in the women's. The winner of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells is awarded 1000 points for both ATP and WTA winner. The runner-up is getting 650, and semifinalists are awarded 390 points. Many players gained a good place in the ranking last year after the tournament in Indian Wells, however, they won't be able to defend the points this year.
Probably the biggest losers of the cancellation in 2020 season will be 2019 champions,
Dominic Thiem and Bianca Andreescu. After claiming the
3rd place of the ATP Ranking, Thiem will lose 1000 points, however, still remains in the 3rd place. Roger Federer will also lose his 650 points, but
the Swiss would have been affected anyway as he underwent surgery and won't play till Wimbledon.
Novak Djokovic will remain the king of the ATP Ranking and Rafael Nadal will stay in second place.
On the other hand,
WTA Rankings will see many more changes. The 2019 champion, Bianca Andreescu won't be the part of TOP 10 anymore as she will lose 1000 points. The "winners" of the current situation can be
Sofia Kenin and Aryna Sabalenka. Both will climb to their career-high as Sabalenka will return to TOP 10 as no. 9 and Kenin will become the third best woman in the ranking.
