Iga Swiatek speaks to the press at the WTA Finals.
It is another day and another Daily Dose of Social Media with the best social media posts and entertainment from the last 24 hours summed up.
While the tennis season might be all but done, it doesn't stop overnight and it will soon be underway again with players getting a mix of both holidays and some even back in training already. Some are also making hilarious social media posts whether intentional or not.

Iga Swiatek opens bakery finally

Case and point is a certain Iga Swiatek who has long shown her distaste for people referring to her as a baker and the whole bakery shtick for her beating players by bagels (6-0) and breadsticks (6-1) as they are known.
But whether intentional or not, she finally leaned into it this past day which drew the humour out ofn tennis fans as a result on social media.
She registered 19 of these sets in 2025. Most recently she did so against Elise Tse 6-0, 6-1 and Gabriela Lee 6-2, 6-0 during the Billie Jean King Cup play-offs.
A tennis account posted a meme about how a player feels after they get thrashed and then receive comforting words on the other side of the net about how good they were when they were just easily beaten.
"When you lose 1-6 0-6 but your opponents tell you how great you played," the post read. Fans noticed that it had been liked by none other than Iga Swiatek on Instagram showing that as much as she shows disdain for this, she has leaned into it.
"Look, I don't want to really talk about that. I really get why people do that because it's fun and tennis is entertainment and everything," she said back in 2023. "But from the players' point of view, I want to be respectful to my opponents. You don't see the stuff that is behind the scenes. Sometimes it's not easy to play such matches, and sometimes it's not easy also for the opponents. I don't want to talk about the bakery. Twitter can talk about it, but I'm just going to be focused on tennis."

Jelena Ostapenko finally sells the perfume samples

A thrilling saga more befitting than Swiatek v Sabalenka or Sinner v Alcaraz has been Jelena Ostapenko's perfume samples that she was selling on her Instagram account.
Tennis fans found humour in the fact that Ostapenko was selling half used designer samples on her Instagram page which she uses to sell items she no longer requires.
Ostapenko seemingly saw the hilarity surrounding her selling her hoover and thought let's go one better and she did. She sold the samples and ironically the buyer was from tennis twitter as they showed off they had received them.
Ostapenko got some people wondering whether she had spent all of her money given that as a top tennis player she isn't exactly hard up and earned over $2million in 2025. Also it led to people wondering if she was going to sell her Porsche she won in Stuttgart earlier in the year.
Coming soon to her Instagram account - the Stuttgart Porsche but despite people actually spending their money on this the hilarity certainly makes it.
"She needs to sell that Porsche that she won in Stuttgart this year," an X user joked.
"While your favorite millionaire is busy with Hermès bag unboxings, my favorite is out here doing this," one fan wrote on X too. The X post has been viewed over 500k times. Trendsetting.

Zizou Bergs left in floods of tears after dramatic loss

Flavio Cobolli was left consoling Zizou Bergs after the Belgian was defeated in the most dramatic of circumstances at the Davis Cup Finals.
Cobolli saved seven match points in a 32 point tie-break with Bergs having many chances to surge through and it took its toll.
“I asked the team, What's the score in the tiebreak, because I didn't know, I didn't remember”, Cobolli said afterwards.
“I won this match because I believed in myself for three hours today. I think I had a great attitude for all the match. Now I’m a little bit tired, but I’m ready to recover for the final.”
His captain Filippo Volandri summed up the experience. “I think this match you only have in Davis Cup”, he said. “We saw two great players fight for their country. They both did an unbelievable job. Only one had to win. In the end we did it.”
“I told Flavio that he wanted more than the opponent. I don't know if was true or not. In the end this is something unbelievable. I'm really proud about Flavio, proud of course of Matteo, but all the team. The crowd made the difference in the end. We had like 10,500 pushing us through the limit because I think we passed the limit.”
