Former World No.1 Angelique Kerber has been working on her return to the tour after giving birth to her first child, and the German star spoke about training while keeping her daughter close by.
Kerber gave birth to daughter Liana in February this year, and spoke about her new relationship with her child.
"Until now, she is always by my side, sometimes in the stroller and sometimes on the pitch," she said in an interview with Bild. "Otherwise, only with the family, but never far away. This has now worked out well. Luckily, she sleeps very well and a lot. But if she starts to cry, I'll be there."
The three-time Grand Slam champion also spoke about her thoughts on returning to competition after her pregnancy, adding it would be a fun challenge as she would be 36 years of age.
"We'll see, but otherwise I wouldn't accept the challenge," said Kerber. "I've always been lucky not to have had any major injuries, but of course I'm aware that it won't be easy at 36. I want to get back to my sport, my work and do what I love. Other mothers in their professions will certainly be able to understand that."
