Angelique Kerber has won her first title since 2018 defeating Katerina Siniakova 6-3, 6-2 to win the Bad Homburg Open, one of numerous warm-up tournaments ahead of Wimbledon.
Kerber has shown an up turn in form as of late after her early exit from Roland Garros and has claimed her 13th career title as a result.
This win shows her prowess on grass too with a 75th win overall, only the third behind Serena and Venus Williams currently active on the WTA tour.
It could be the former Williams vs Kerber in the third round of Wimbledon this year and given the German's last title was at the All England Club, could she emerge as a contender?
