The
ATP Race to Turin was updated after the second week of competition with new champions in parallel tournaments: the ATP 500
Dallas Open and
ABN AMRO Open Rotterdam, as well as the ATP 250
Argentina Open in the traditional South American swing.
It was a particular week in which the rankings were respected, and the three tournaments had the top two seeds in the final respectively – consolidating their positions in the upper zone of the 2026 ATP Race. Unlike the ranking, the Race only considers points earned in the calendar year – from the first week of the season.
Ben Shelton and
Alex de Minaur consolidated their positions in the top 4 and displaced, if only slightly, Jannik Sinner down to No. 5 – after the Italian had been out of competition since the Australian Open.
However, in first place
Carlos Alcaraz remains unmovable – champion of the Australian Open, and with only one tournament played there – and his recent appearance in Doha, which is still ongoing – he comfortably maintains his lead in the Race, leaving the Aussie Open runner-up Novak Djokovic in second place.
Alcaraz leads as De Minaur and Shelton rise
It was a week in which several of those who were better positioned managed to consolidate their positions at the top, and even climb on the road to the ATP Finals in Turin. The first two positions remain unmovable: Carlos Alcaraz comfortably stays in first place with 2,050 points – after debuting with a triumph in Doha. He leaves further behind in second place Novak Djokovic (1,300), finalist in Melbourne and who has not returned to the court since then.
The movements begin in third place, where notably appears the Aussie Alex de Minaur (985), recent champion in Rotterdam, after
defeating Félix Auger-Aliassime in the final. He is the leader in victories of the year (a record 11-2) and took his first title of the season. He barely surpasses by a handful of points Ben Shelton (950), champion of the ATP 500 Dallas Open, who came from defeating Taylor Fritz in the final.
In fifth place appears Jannik Sinner (850), who was displaced by a 100-point difference from Shelton. The Italian advanced just one position this week with his first-round triumph in Qatar – securing 50 points, which were added. The 800 points from the Australian Open
semifinals. Participation in
Doha allowed him to leave behind in the live race Alexander Zverev (840), who rested this week before reappearing at the Mexican Open in Acapulco.
Bublik and Auger-Aliassime stays consistent
While the top-6 remains well-established with a wide difference from the contenders, the rest of the top-10 consolidated upwards after the last week. Félix Auger-Aliassime (615) had a good campaign in Rotterdam up to the final, earning 300 points to take 8th place. The Canadian had just won the title at the Occitanie Open and quickly compensated for the points lost with the early exit in Melbourne after suffering an injury.
On the way to the Rotterdam final, he defeated Bublik (650) in the semifinals, who remains in 7th place in the Race. The Kazakh, maintaining consistency, earned the title earlier in the year at the Hong Kong Open, which gives him – momentarily – a boost among the potential qualifiers for the ATP Finals.
At the end, in Hong Kong at the start of the year, precisely, he surpassed the injured Lorenzo Musetti (565, 9th), who begins to see his rivals surpass him in the Race after weeks of accumulating points. The Italian had started near the top, with a final and an appearance up to the semifinals of the Australian Open. However, the injury has kept him out of competition during the last month, and he is only now expected to return in Indian Wells.
Completing the top-10 is the
runner-up of the Dallas Open, Taylor Fritz, who had barely remained inside the top-20 after the Australian Open (eliminated in the fourth round), but regained confidence this week in Dallas, adding 300 points that put him back in the top-10 of the Race for the first time this season. The American will aim during this season to reach his 4th ATP Finals of his career.
Mensik, Cerundolo and Medvedev nears top-10
Among the top names – and near the top-10 – is positioned the Argentine Francisco Cerundolo, who took revenge for two previously lost finals in Buenos Aires and lifted the title at home for the first time. He remains at No. 12 – tied with Daniil Medvedev, champion earlier this year in Brisbane.
Also remaining near the top is the Czech Jakub Mensik, who by adding his points from Doha this week positions himself at No. 11. If he advances to the quarterfinals, he will secure his place in the top-10 of the Race. Other players in the upper zone include Sebastian Baez, Learner Tien, and Luciano Darderi – runner-up in the Argentina Open last weekend.
