Although Greek star
Stefanos Tsitsipas has not been living up to expectations lately, he should feel motivated after hearing some encouraging words from 20-time Grand Slam champion,
Roger Federer.
Tsitsipas has not won an ATP title since Los Cabos last August, as his form suffered a dip towards the end of the 2023 season. The former ATP Finals champion has seen his ranking drop this year, falling out of the top 10 as he currently sits at World No.11 on the ATP rankings table.
Federer has high hopes for his former opponent
The Swiss Maestro was present at the 96th edition of the Academy Awards last weekend, where he took some time to give his thoughts on Tsitsipas' current form. The Greek star has amassed an unimpressive 9-4 record this season, falling to rising Czech star
Jiri Lehecka in the round of 16 at the ongoing
Indian Wells event.
"Of course, Tsitsipas is still doing well, and I hope he can do great things this year and turn his career around," said Federer in an interview at the Academy Awards. "I've lost to him a lot of times and I think he's a great player, but I'd like to see him take it to the next level. So I wish him the best."
