Shapovalov went full Rublev at Roland-Garros 😬😬😬 #RolandGarros
In our Daily Dose of Social Media, we look back at some of the main moments from this year's Roland Garros that you might have missed and some of the best of social media.
In the latest Daily Dose of Social Media, Denis Shapovalov, Iga Swiatek, Olga Danilovic and Novak Djokovic all feature in a round-up of all the best moments.
Now being dubbed the Rublev, Denis Shapovalov went into full meltdown during his clash into Hubert Hurkacz. But he looked to do his face damage over his knees. He smashed his racquet off his face likely to avoid a code violation.
A bit of an odd situation from Shapovalov who will now have to return tomorrow to conclude his match for good measure. Pretty bizarre but for those who enjoy tennis meltdowns, here is one for you.

Iga Swiatek turned 23 today and won through to the fourth round with a superb win over Marie Bouzkova. Likely rushing off court to enjoy herself with every year seeing her birthday fall during the tournament where she rules, it is one that she was recognised for.
Tournament Director, Amelie Mauresmo presented her with a huge cake with sparkler candles. A cake fit for the Queen of Clay. Also she showed her selfless side. Her first thought was dividing the cake up between those present in the room. As she reaches her 23rd year, she is certainly at the top of her game.
Here is the cake 😁
In a moment that certainly leave Arthur Rinderknech best pleased, Tomas Martin Etcheverry played with the crowd whilst the Frenchman was having his big toe attended to.
Rinderknech had the match in the palm of his hands. He was looking to become the only Frenchman through aside from Corentin Moutet into the fourth round. But he decided to let out his frustrations and smashed his foot off a billboard.
He had to retire after injuring his big toe. Etcheverry in a pretty hilarious move decided to keep the crowd entertained whilst Rinderknech sat scowling.
Genius Tomas Etcheverry who plays with the crowd meanwhile Arthur Rinderknech is being treated 😅
There was a very clear answer when it came to the greatest tennis player of all time with all players who were quizzed being very much resounding.
Qinwen Zheng, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Andy Murray, Sebastian Korda and Aryna Sabalenka all gave the same answer straight away. No shock that it was one Novak Djokovic who continues his campaign tomorrow.
Who’s the greatest tennis player of all time? 😉
Andrey Rublev was the main seed to have been dumped out thus far at the 2024 French Open with the Russian showing his feelings smashing his racquet and in more concerning incidents of losing his temper.
Rublev has done so on a myriad of occasions in the past year or so most notably when he was defaulted by a line judge at the 2024 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships for screaming in their face.
One very much that her regrets, but it has happened again.
This is really concerning for Rublev, hope he gets the help he needs because he seems such a nice guy off the court with a heart of gold…
Iga Swiatek isn't usually one to hit back at journalists. But she was asked about the video that emerged about her crying in the gym and she served up an iconic retort.
She cried after beating Naomi Osaka as the occasion got to her after one of the best matches of the year so far. Eurosport who previously were criticised for capturing Sabalenka having a meltdown after the US Open did so again in this case. To which Swiatek simply respond: "Maybe I was crying because there are cameras at the gym." Superb from Swiatek.
„maybe i was crying because there are cameras at the gym” GO GET THEM!!!
Olga Danilovic has really emerged at this year's French Open. She has reached the fourth round in a career best run and after toiling to make it towards the top 100, she will do just that and also leave a mark on this year's tournament.
But the Serbian could barely speak as she struggled to hold back the tears after beating Donna Vekic. Also after seeing off Danielle Collins, she proved that she was no flash in the pan. A truly delightful story for the 23-year-old.
