Team Europe was entering the last day at the Laver Cup in Geneva with 7-5 lead, but John Isner and Jack Sock turned the score to the Team World's side.
After
Rafael Nadal retired from the two games he was supposed to play on the third day, coach Bjorn Börg replaced him with
Stefanos Tsitsipas in doubles. Although it was Tsitspas who was first to lose his serve in first set, he and Federer managed to turn it and win 7-5. Although Nadal was not on the court, he was always supporting his teammates and giving them important advice on the bench.
In this match players fought for 3 points that could put Team World on their knees or put them in the lead for the first time druing the weekend. The Americans Sock and Isner fought in the second set, winning it 6-4 and so the third doubles match at the
Laver Cup, went into super tie-break.
Team Europe earned first mini-break in the tie-break, with Federer and Tsitsipas leading 2-0 and 4-3. However, Tsitsipas lost both his serves, and Team World took the lead, 7-4. They did not do any major mistakes later and so won the super tie-break 10-8. After the first game on Sunday, Team Wolrd leads for the first time 8-7.
