After suffering a semifinal loss at last week's Shanghai Masters, Serbian tennis superstar Novak Djokovic has at least one more event scheduled for the 2025 season as he will be competing at the Hellenic Championships in November.
An ATP 250 event, the Hellenic Championships was formerly held in Belgrade, Serbia. However, the ATP announced the tournament will be relocated to Athens, Greece this year, and is set to run from November 2-8, 2025.
Although the 24-time Grand Slam champion has shifted his focus to Grand Slams in recent years, Djokovic will no doubt be looking forward to competing at this event. The former Belgrade Open is organized by Djokovic's brother, Djordje, giving the former World No.1 more incentive to play at what he still considers a home event.
Additionally, Djokovic resides in Greece. This will give the 38-year old an opportunity to play in front of his family, who sometimes accompany him to various events on Tour.

Djokovic could end season in Athens

Currently sitting at No.3 in the ATP Race to Turin, Djokovic is all but assured of qualifying for the year-ending ATP Finals. The Serbian has prevailed a record seven times at the elite event, with his most recent occurring in 2023.
However, this year's edition of the ATP Finals kicks off on November 9, 2025. With the final of the Hellenic Championships taking place on November 8, Djokovic may not have much time to recover and prepare for Turin, should he be among the last two men standing. This has led to the speculation that the Serbian might chose to end his season in Athens, in front of family and friends.
Nonetheless, several other tennis stars have been invited to the Athens tournament. Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas will hope to shine in front of his home crowd. Joining him is three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka, who is sure to bring his best tennis despite being in the twilight of his career.
Russian Karen Khachanov is slated to compete at the event. The World No.10 will be joined by the Czech duo of Jakub Mensik and Jiri Lehecka, with Frenchman Alexandre Muller also confirmed for the event.
