Roger Federer will aim for a 21st Grand Slam triumph at
Wimbledon this summer, despite not being at his best going into the return of the grass court finale at the All England club.
Federer withdrew from the French Open after defeating Dominik Koepfer citing preparation for Wimbledon being key.
But he faced disappointment in Halle losing to Felix Auger-Aliassime and despite avoiding a quarter-final with
Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon, his draw may not be favourable if another title is in his sights.
He will begin against
Adrian Mannarino, a grass court specialist and a tricky start for the nine-time champion especially in his current match fitness.
Before he switches attention potentially to Richard Gasquet. Round Three could see his trickiest test though as he faces Queen's finalist,
Cameron Norrie who is currently in the form of his life.
The Brit will be likely buoyed by home support against the popular Federer but it gets even harder if he gets through that.
Likely awaiting would be
Pablo Carreno Busta before Daniil Medvedev who is currently in the semi-finals in Mallorca.
Alexander Zverev/Matteo Berrettini would likely follow before a potential final with Novak Djokovic.
With Berrettini and Djokovic in particular earmarked as two favourites and Norrie not being an easy customer, it may not be the final Wimbledon to savour potentially for Federer.
