Grigor Dimitrov detailed his daily routine ahead of his clash with Novak Djokovic in the 2023 Paris Masters final.

The World No. 17 has had a very successful end to the season, including wins against World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz and No. 3 Daniil Medvedev over recent weeks. Now, he has made it to the final, where he is in with a chance to claim his first ATP title since the 2017 ATP Finals.

After his semi-final victory against Stefanos Tsitsipas, whom he defeated in a close-knit battle 6-3, 6-7 (1), 7-6 (3), the Bulgarian player spoke to Tennis Channel about his approach to tournaments and how he prioritizes things in his daily routine.

Dimitrov takes an hour for "self-reflection"

"Overall, I’m very, very simple [...] I prioritize everything right now. I think when I go from what time I have breakfast, what time I practice, what time I rest, what time I do my treatment, and what time I have time for myself," he said.

The 32-year-old also added that he takes an hour every day to self-reflect, which he finds to be very important and beneficial.

"There’s also time throughout the day, about an hour that I turn off everything around me and self-reflection.

"I mean, for me, that’s personally very, very important. I also enjoyed that time alone. I think it’s good to be alone with your thoughts and with your mind and all that.

"I think it helps me a lot, whether it’s good or bad thoughts that are coming into your head. You cannot be constantly positive 24x7. So you need to let kind of everything, everything go runs through you," he continued.

Dimitrov will face World No. 1 Djokovic for the thirteenth time in his career and will be hoping to score his first win against the 36-year-old in over ten years. Djokovic currently leads their head-to-head 11-1, with Dimitrov having secured his one victory at the 2013 Madrid Open.
