Alexander Bublik managed to rally to take down Hubert Hurkacz at
ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam but not without a usual outburst from the Kazakh who was frustrated by the level, pace and style of the tennis on display from the Pole.
Bublik will now face Jan-Lennard Struff in the next round after he won through at
ABN AMRO Open 7-6, 6-7, 5-7 in the end seeing off the returning Pole who was a dangerous unseeded floater in the draw as Bublik found out.
Always one to speak his mind, Bublik fumed after a point lost that everything was either incredible or awful (either a double fault or an ace) and that Hurkacz showed no rhythm which was annoying him as he tried to figure him out.
He compared himself to Djokovic next to what he displayed but despite this issue, he did manage to rally and seal the win in the end to move forward but nothing without drama for him.
"Ace, ace, double fault, double fault, double fault, ace, ace, double fault, ace, ace, double fault. What the hell is this? And they tell me I have no rhythm. I'm Djokovic next to him, damn it!," he said
on court.
