Mattek-Sands and Murray won the US Open title after defeating Chan and Venus first seeded comfortably in one hour 6-2 and 6-3.

The US-British pair entered the tournament as not seeded despite winning the mixed doubles title at the US Open a year ago.
On their way to the finals, they coped with couples such as Zhang / Peers, Melichar / Soares, Dabrowski / Pavic or Stosur / Ram. But in the finals, they were facing the biggest obstacle, the first seeded pair Chan and Venus.
Mattek-Sands and Murray controlled the match since the first game. In the first set, they managed to take their opponents serve twice and won it 6-2.
The second set started quite differently than the first. Neither pair managed to keep their service during the first 4 games. It changed in game 5 when Chan and Venus took the lead 3-2. But they haven't been able to win a game since then and lost in the second Grand Slam final as a team.
Interestingly, it was Jamie Murray with Martina Hingis who beat the pair in the finals in Flushing Meadows two years ago. For Jamie, this is the third mixed doubles title at the US Open in a row and the second with Bethanie Mattek-Sands.
