Lucia Bronzetti reaches new milestone
Lucia Bronzetti saw off Naomi Osaka 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 today and unlocked a new milestone as a result. She has become the player with the most wins in 2025.
This against former WTA World No.1's. She has three equalling Mirra Andreeva and Jelena Ostapenko respectively. She has seen off Victoria Azarenka and Simona Halep at the Australian Open and Cluj-Napoca.
Also today Alexandra Eala also unlocked history. She is now only the second Asian teenager to claim five WTA 1000 match wins in a calendar year after Naomi Osaka back in 2017. She has five wins in WTA 1000 matches this year. She faces Iga Swiatek in the second round in Madrid.
Andre Agassi set for competitive return to action
Andre Agassi will make a competitive sporting return in short order after being coaxed into doing so by pickleball star Anna Leigh Waters.
Waters is an 18-year-old professional. She is ranked World No.1 in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. it was announced on the Kitchen Pickleball's Instagram page, a popular pickleball community.
They have also had a practice session already. They will lay together in mixed doubles at the U.S Open Pickleball Championships in Naples, Florida on April 30th.
According to sources, Waters invited Agassi because of their respective play styles. Agassi has recently released his own line of paddles and has played Pickleball Slam in Las Vegas including with wife Steffi Graf.
It has been 19 years after tennis retirement for Agassi and he will make his return to sport for the first time since.
"This might say more about me than I care to admit, but me and Steff (i Graf) actually make friends. You know how hard it is to make friends. I'm 55 years old. I mean, it's sad but true. It's hard, right? The older you get, the less people in your life, right? But pickle(ball) has actually turned that on its head. It's like we have people we just enjoy being with. Pickleball court, running into them at dinner somewhere, going out," said Agassi recently on the Bad Calls podcast.
He lauded the sport as one that brings people closer as opposed to taking it seriously as an alternative to tennis.
Collins and Eubanks swap tennis for pickleball
Both sponsored by the brand Danielle Collins and Christopher Eubanks swapped their tennis skills for a new discipline that has been compared to tennis.
That being pickleball which swaps the traditional racquets for a padel and is more like a human table tennis version.
It has seen the likes of Eugenie Bouchard and Jack Sock swap disciplines. But will Collins and Eubanks be joining Agassi aforementioned.
View their own take at the sport as well as what their thoughts were in the video below.
"Trading racquets for paddles! @danimalcollins and @chris_eubanks96 hit the court with @sixzeropickleball pro's @kelseygrambeau to talk (and play) all things pickleball. All three are former college tennis players — so what skills translate… and what doesn’t?" wrote the Instagram by Tecnifibre.
