Open 13 Provence Semifinals Day Schedule of play is kicked off with a doubles match but it's the singles matches that are drawing all the attention.
Semifinals day at the
Open 13 Provence is upon us and schedule of play has
Stefanos Tsitsipas stepping onto the courts 1st. The Greek, who won this event last year, is
finally playing better after a
shaky start to the season. He has been quite convincing in the latter stages of this tournament and he will be looking for another title.
His opponent Bublik, who has been playing quite well lately, shocked the tennis world yesterday admitting he 'hates' tennis. He followed it up saying he only plays it for financial reasons. It's a fascinating statement by someone who will essentially be a top 50 player soon.
Tsitsipas comes from a tennis family, with a deeply rooted love for the game so it might give him more motivation today. Even so, he is a heavy favourite and he should win nonetheless.
Semifinal #2
The 2nd semifinal will begin shortly after the 1st ends and will feature Simon and Auger-Aliassime. The French veteran has been playing solid tennis during this indoor tennis season but nobody
expected him to beat Medvedev as he did. The Russian isn't playing well lately but many would have still picked him against Simon. Now he will need to face an in-form Auger-Aliassime.
Felix has had a superb run during the indoor season. He reached
the Rotterdam final (l. to Monfils) and now he is close to his 2nd
career final. He has been playing a lot of tennis lately and in consecutive weeks so fitness will be a factor. His previous matches have also been quite long dramatic so they might have taken a toll.
